Who are you?
We are a student organization at South Dakota State University that develops video games.
What do you do here?
We host a game jam every summer with a mystery theme, and then try to compete and get our butts kicked by amazing developers around the world.
Your games don't seem impressive / are broken...
Those are past game jam games, and we are still learning. We devote most of our time to a long-term project that allows members to think big and make something together that would be impossible for any one person to do alone.
Can I compete in your game jam?
Yes! Please do! That would be amazing!
Can I come to your meetings?
If you are a student, absolutely! We typically meet Fridays at 5 in SDEA #370, and meetings go as long as people are committed to working (record is 8 hours, typically is 3-4).
If you are an employer or a hobbyist, you may want to give us a heads up first, as we have our agendas. But with proper arrangements, we will definitely be excited to have you around.
Can I sponsor you?
Sure! Email us!
Can I start my own branch of GCO at my organization?
Sure! Email us! We can definitely get you started with some tips and suggestions!
